Certification Pathway System WEB Site URL URL = Uniform Resource Locator, in this case the web site address. Logon http://certprep.certiport.com/ NOTE: You can access the Certification Pathway System from any point on the Internet, from school, home or any wireless hot spot. 10 10 August 2005Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide Page 10 Initial Course Enrollment  The first time you logon and click on “My Pathway” you will see the screen at right.  You must enroll in the Benchmark or Mentor*.  Click on “Course Catalog” to go to the Catalog containing the Benchmark and Mentor to enroll. Course Enrollment Click Course Catalog or Catalog to enroll in the Benchmark or Mentor. * NOTE: Some students will be pre-enrolled in the Benchmark and/or Mentor by their teacher or class administrator.

11 10 August 2005Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide Page 11 Course Catalog Screen  The Catalog screen shows the various courses you can enroll in.  To enroll in a Benchmark course, click on Internet and Computing Benchmark.  To enroll in a Mentor course, click on Internet and Computing Mentor. Course Enrollment Click Internet and Computing Benchmark or Internet and Computing Mentor to add that Module to your Pathway.

12 10 August 2005Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide Page 12 Course Catalog Screen # 2  This is the Benchmark Catalog screen - there are 3 different IC 3 modules available to enroll in.  To enroll in a Benchmark course, click Enroll beside the module you would like to add to your pathway. Course Enrollment Click Enroll on an available course to add that Module to your Pathway.

The course you chose is automatically launched. You may use it immediately or go back to the Catalog and enroll in further courses. Course Enrollment

15 10 August 2005Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide Page 15 Definition of the Sections of the IC 3 Syllabus  The IC 3 specification defines the sections of the syllabus and the topics covered in a four level structure:  Modules,  Domains within Modules,  Objectives within Domains,  Topics/Skill-sets within Objectives.  For each Skill-set in the IC 3 Syllabus, there is a corresponding question in the Benchmark and Mentor Assessment.  There are a total of 221 questions in the syllabus; 61 in Computing Fundamentals, 87 in Key Applications and 73 in Living Online. Click on the Domain Title (orange text) to enter the Domain you want to use Module Menu Page Icons indicate the status of each section of the course based on the legend at the bottom. Progress reports can be accessed at any stage using the Progress Report button. This is the Module Name

Indicates that the item or group of items has been started, but not completed. Indicates that the item or group has not been started. Indicates that the item or group must be attempted to complete this section. Indicates that this question was answered correctly. Indicates that this question was answered incorrectly.

18 10 August 2005Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide Page 18 Student’s IC 3 Module Menu Page  This is the Domain level within Key Applications.  There are 4 Objectives available beneath this level.  Click on the Objective that you want to enter to see a list of skill-sets (questions) within it. Click on the Objective Title to move to the Skillset level Module Menu Page Click on Key Applications – Mentor to move back up to the Module level and choose another Domain.

Student’s Name The IC 3 Module You are Using Click Play to launch a specific skill-set question. Progress Report Button Module Menu Page Complete description of the level the student is on: Module, Domain, Objective. The titles above your current level can be used to navigate back up one or more levels.

Progress Reports Click Back to Training to return to the main course menu. Click Save to save the report to your computer. For each Domain you are given the Score, number of Attempts and the Time used. The Progress Bar gives you a quick overview of your overall progress..

Progress Reports Click Back to Training to return to the main course menu. Select an alternative report from the “Select a report…” drop down list. Save the report using the Save button.

Reporting at the Objective level.

Progress Reports Click Back to Training to return to the main course menu. Select an alternative report from the “Select a report…” drop down list. Save the report using the Save button. Score, Attempts and Time for every question. Assist reporting for every question.
