3 Fascism in Italy  Benito Mussolini  Italy wanted a stronger leader that would take action  Popular resentment- Italy’s economy weak after WWI  Combati di Fascimento used intimidation tactics (Paramilitary ‘Black Shirts’)

4 Fascism in Germany  Adolf Hitler & The Nazi Party  German economy weak= popular unrest  Huge unemployment & Great Depression  Exploited resentment from the Treaty of Versailles

5 Fascism in Germany  Hitler had a private army = Storm troopers / “Brownshirts”  Promised to return German land lost in WWI  Promised to revive Germany’s Economy  Used rallies to inspire / awe
