2 Engineering Projects Capital Improvement Projects: –Yuma County Jail District Annex $11.8 million CM@ risk, new 80 bed detention annex, appx. 90% complete –Library District Bond Expansion, $53.8 million Two new library’s constructed CM @ Risk Two new library’s constructed with Design/build Two renovated library's constructed with Design/Build –Area Service Highway, joint project with ADOT, local matching share $13.15 million. New 23 mile truck route to new Port of Entry. ADOT has awarded the first two phases for $6.2 mill. and $15.6 mill.

3 Engineering Projects Public Works, FY 08 –slurry seal 18.51 miles (405,684 sq. yards) – chip seal 34.15 miles – overlays 27.35 miles RS 2477, new interpretation SUWA v. BLM, status quo of road maintenance and improvement. (March 2006) –Governor vetoed public rights of way; citing concerns that it would "inject unnecessary confusion" into land ownership in Arizona. The proposal would have asserted state and political subdivision ownership of rights-of-way known as R.S. 2477, roadways that were established during the western expansion prior to 1976

4 Avenue C: Road Reconstruction 1-mile $3.8 mill. road reconstruction project Acquisition of 37 out of 39 parcels ;10 Full takes that also required Payment of Relocation Assistance per ARS 11-961et.seq.[$1.2mill] Extensive utility relocations and a major irrigation delivery crossing.

8 Flood Control District As a result of the one on one meeting w/ FEMA, the county provided our limits of the special flood zones due to the levy decertification, with supporting data. FEMA accepted the limits. In addition a discrepancy on the Fortuna Wash limits was also corrected. FEMA Community Outreach Coordinator will be in Yuma on June 18-19. Informational meetings have been scheduled.
