24 Staging Tips In today’s competitive real estate market, your home must be in top shape to attract buyers. As your O’Brien Realty agent, I will give you a customized “to do” list that will net you the most money. Here are some common examples: Clean, stain, or paint the front door. Plant some extra flowers for color – or just put some pots beside the front door. Rake the lawn, and sweep the sidewalks and driveway. To make the rooms seem warmer and brighter, buy higher wattage light bulbs, put them in every lamp in the house, and turn them all on for every showing Brighten interiors with fresh, light-toned paint. It’s inexpensive and makes a big difference. Clean out your kitchen cabinets and pantry. Leave them looking neat and spacious. Clear off the kitchen counters – including small appliances and dish racks – to make them look as expansive as possible. Clean out all your closets to make them look bigger.
