1 Epilogue To write an imaginative narrative

2 Interpreting the Conclusion People have interpreted the ending of THE GIVER in a variety of ways. Use your imagination and invent and epilogue to the novel that reveals what happens to Jonas and Gabe when their sled reaches the bottom of that hill.

3 Narrative – No more than 3 no less than 1 Include a beginning, a middle, and an end You have spent some time analyzing Jonas’s character, but what about the people he meets when he reaches Elsewhere? Describe them. Lowry uses sensory details to describe the snow and the hill. Follow her example, and create sensory details to allow your reader to experience the place where the boys find themselves in your epilogue.
