It was ratified on February 3, 1870. 14th The 14th amendment includes the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses among others. It is perhaps the most significant structural change to the Constitution since the passage of the United States Bill of Rights. The amendment provides a broad definition of United States citizenship, overturning the Dred Scott case, which excluded African Americans. It requires the states to provide equal protection under the law to all persons (not only to citizens) within their jurisdiction.

10. A railroad line built in the United States of America between 1863 and 1869. The transcontinental railroad is considered one of the greatest American technological feats of the 19th century. Completion of the railroad substantially accelerated populating the West, while contributing to the decline of territory controlled by the Native Americans.

"Civil Rights"- The racial discrimination that could have been eliminated in this era led to a deep scar that wouldn't heal until the 1960's. "Westward Expansion"- The continuation of America's growth relates to all eras in American history previous to 1865. "Technological Advancement": Expansion of technology is similar to other eras in how the new advancements further develop the time period.
