1 Human Engineering Evaluation of Street Cleaners’ MSDs Symptoms

2 Reason of subject selection The aim of project Survey from Street cleaners What is MSDs(about MSDs) RULA system - A nalysis of evaluation group 1&2 Improvements Gantt chart Q & A

3 Reason for selection  We want to get the point of level of job stress and MSDs symptoms for street cleaners, also we want to investigate the relationship between job stress and MSDs symptoms. ▶ Identify the level of job stress from Street cleaners ▶ Identify the level of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms in body parts from street cleaners ▶ Identify the independent correlation between work-related musculoskeletal sy mptoms and job stress from street cleaners

4  Human Engineering Evaluation of Street Cleaners’ MSDs Symptoms  Way to reduce overloading of the amount of work  Preventive management of MSDs

5 Survey from street cleaners Place : Seoul Ages : All ages Respondents : Street cleaners from Seoul Total : 299

9 What is MSDs? M usculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are injuries or pain in the body's joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves, tendons, and structures that support limbs, neck and back. MSDs can arise from a sudden exertion, or they can arise from making the same motions repeatedly repetitive strain, or from repeated exposure to force, vibration, or awkward posture. E xamples of specific MSD disorders are carpal tunnel syndrome, Lowback pain and Tension Neck Syndrome.

17 Action level # The requirements for action into which the grand scores are divided is summarized into Action levels as follows. Action level 1 : A score of 1 or 2 indicates that posture is acceptable If it is not maintained or repeated for long periods. Action level 2 : A score of 3 or 4 indicates that further investigation is needed and changes may be required. Action level 3 : A score of 5 or 6 indicates that investigation and changes are required soon. Action level 4 : A score of 7 indicates that investigation and changes are required immediately.
