3 APICS CSCP Learning System 2013 Learning System updated based on instructor feedback/errata. In 2013, we will be reviewing our quality assurance process for all courseware products, including CSCP. 3

4 CPIM Courseware 2013 CPIM Courseware Updates All modules updated based on reported errata and minor changes to the Exam Content Manual Now including the ECM in both the instructor guide and participant workbooks A new online feature, APICS CPIM Study Tools, has been added as a complement to the courseware Updated Practice Questions across all modules, now part of APICS CPIM Study Tools 4

6 Courseware Updates and Developments Train the Trainer and Learning Dynamics for Instructors Minor updates are planned for Q1 2013 New for 2013 – Applied Instructor Skills (AIS) 1-day seminar that “sharpens the saw” for instructors Opportunity for instructors to practice the application of their instruction skills using APICS courseware Contact Bob Collins if interested in hosting or attending 6

7 Certification Update Prometric has been selected as the International CBT vendor. The Global Exam Delivery project is currently underway to transition paper and pencil testing to CBT outside of North America and provide a more standardized test delivery process worldwide. A project to align maintenance dates and streamline the maintenance process for individuals holding both CPIM and CSCP certifications is currently in progress for planned launch by year end. As a result of the CPIM Job Task Analysis completed in 2012, BSCM, DSP and SMR exam content is being updated in 2013 with new exams launching in January of 2014. The MPR and ECO exams are scheduled to update in 2014 with exams launched in January of 2015. 7

8 APICS, in collaboration with the Institute of Business Forecasting & Planning (IBF), is once again presenting two Best of the Best S&OP Conferences in 2013: May 16-17 (London, UK) June 13-14 (Chicago, IL) IBF has primary responsibility for developing the program content, with APICS having primary responsibility for logistics and marketing. 8

9 Planning continues for APICS 2013 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando; registration opened May 1 st, supported with targeted electronic and print marketing campaigns. The theme for the conference is ‘The Supply Chain Experience: Leveraging the Power of the Customer.’ Innovation expert Jeremy Gutsche and StrengthsFinder 2.0 author Tom Rath have been confirmed for the conference keynotes. The selection process is actively underway for the conference educational sessions in the areas of: Collaboration, Responsiveness, Operational Efficiency, Sustainability, Risk and Resiliency, Innovation, Business Analytics, and Professional Development. 9

10 APICS continues to partner with channel partners across North America to present one-day seminars on the topics of Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Risk Management, and Principles of MRP. Attendee feedback from the events has generally been positive, and staff continues to explore resources and strategies to increase overall market demand for future programs. 10

11 2013 International Student Case Competition September 27 – 29, 2013 in Orlando, Florida sponsored by the Foundation The competition will be among the top winning teams from each district competition This competition will be “real world.” The case/simulation will concern operations and supply chain management information, strategic issues and appropriate supporting data. Awards for the undergraduate/graduate competition levels: Grand Champion$ 2,500.00 First Place$ 1,500.00 Second Place $ 1,000.00 Student expenses to participate will be the responsibility of the teams or university sponsors. 11

12 APICS Practitioner Research Reports Now available to the public (outside the member firewall) at www.apics.org/research www.apics.org/research These research reports cover current practices and challenges related to big data sales and operations planning (S&OP) supply chain risk supply chain strategy sustainability Project management report to be released in May. 12

13 Membership Services March saw a slight decrease in membership by 278 members. The New Member total was 1,154 and there were 1,647 renewing members. The current member total is 37,388. This is an increase of 1,373 total members from March of 2012. 13
