3 Social media is a competitive market. In the rush to add new features to current offerings, user privacy sometimes gets left on the back burner. Apps and plug-ins that utilize GPS location and single access sign-on

4 present unique security concerns for users. Most social media features now require users to grant access to their personal information, including publicly shared pictures and status updates, before they can use the service.

5 Many people increasingly utilize social Networks, such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Orkut, Linked in and etc. These networks allow users to publish details about themselves and their lives and also connect to their friends and colleagues.

7 They try to solve this problem Google has been trying to get its hands on a piece the social media pie that has been dominated by Facebook. One of its last major attempts, Buzz, was not only a complete failure, but it

8 also ended in a class action lawsuit over privacy issues. Ascovered in late 2010, there is an ongoing cold war of sorts between Google and Facebook, and the question is whether the new Google+ Project conglomerate a one-up.

9 A recent comic on XKCD illustrates that Google+ has the potential to become popular, mainly because it is not Facebook. As reported by PC World, the American Customer Satisfaction Index did a survey that found Facebook to

10 be the 10th most hated company in America. This may be a selling point for many current Facebook users who are growing tired of the numerous privacy problems to switch to Google+.
