Many single-celled organisms, including bacteria, are helpful. Some single-celled organisms have unique features that enable them to move by themselves.

Place one drop of water from a local pond on a slide. –Ask students to observe the pond water under the microscope and make a drawing of what they see. –Share the drawings as a class and discuss what was seen.
