2 Talking about the pictures. Teacher: Mgr. Alena Chaloupková Class: 7 Date : 23rd April 2013 Subject: English Topic: Talking to friends abroad. Frames of some picture discussion possibilities. Key words: in the corner, at the top/bottom on the left/right, in the background/ foreground, I/you can see…There is…/There are… Type of interactivity: Interactive board and a worksheet. This exercise can be used for talking to friends abroad and revision of conversation lessons. The frame gives pupils the line how to build their talking to make them free and fluent during the conversation via computer fast communication tools.

5 Exercise 3. Problem solving. Let‘s talk about the picture. Can you describe the picture using the prepositions in the first poster and use the following cues ?The cues : I can see…, There is/are…, pupils and teachers are talking/paying attention to presentation/ perhaps/ he is talking about process of silk production/ silk fibres/ a Persian carpet/a tank/ tables, chairs/ a restaurant/a wall/ entrance/silkworm cocoon/ silkworm larva, a gate to Kusadasi town, a port in Kusadasi, Turkey. 7 Solution of exercise 2 is in the poster 1. Here are the possible answers for exercises 4. They can be different because the answers depend on students ideas, experience, and preferences. Exercise 4. Possible answer. At the top of the collage we can see an entrance to the castle in Kusadasi. The castle is a museum, an exhibition and a shop of old craft. It is in Turkey. A Persian carpet, one of typical products of Turkish craft is in the top left hand corner on display. There is also a lemon tree. In the centre of the collage. There are our pupils in the middle. Perhaps they are talking about the process of silkworm fibres production. At he bottom there are silk fibres. Perhaps the man on the left side is presenting the silk production and the pupils and teachers are paying attention to his explanation. They might be asking questions about the process, In the bottom right hand corner you can see a silkworm larva and in the bottom left hand corner there are cocoons of the silkworms. On the left you can also see the port in Kusadasi and on the left there is a gate to Kusadasi town.

8 Here are the possible answers for exercises 5. They can be different because the answers depend on students ideas, experience and preferences. Exercise 5. Possible answer. In the background of the collage you can see the library of Celsus in Ephesus. In the top left hand corner there is a picture of an open air museum, Doganbey Koyu. Perhaps the pupils are going there to learn history and nature and in top right hand corner you can see an international group with questionnaire in their hands. I think they are walking round the open air museum „ Ephesus“ and looking for the answers in questionnaire. Miletos theatre is on the right side of the collage. It was built in the 5th century BC. In the bottom right hand corner another photo of Miletos is situated. A famous mathematician Thalet lived there. In the bottom left hand corner you can see the Virgin Mary house. It is the place where St Mary lived at the end of her life and died. The tree on the left side you can see an olive tree, a typical plant in Turkey.
