2 Different types of Violins The violin is one of the main instruments in the orchestra. Violins play a massive role in classical music. There are 4 main instruments in the violin family. They all have similar shapes, sizes, they all use the same bow and are all played in a similar way. Violin - The smallest and most popular. of the family. The violin has the highest pitch. Viola - Slightly larger than the violin, the viola has a lower pitch. It's played in the same way as the violin. Cello - The cello is quite a bit larger than the viola. Cello players sit down the play the cello resting the bottom of the cello, a metal spike, on the ground. Double Bass- The double bass is the biggest and lowest pitch member of the violin family. Musicians usually stand to play the double bass with the bottom bit resting on the ground.

3 Parts of a Violin The Violin is a very carefully made wooden hollow box which is usually brown. The four Violin strings run from a tailpiece attached to the base of the Violin. The sides of the Violin is called the ribs. It is the smallest and highest-tuned member of the violin family of string instruments, which also includes the viola, cello and double bass. The lowest string (and hence the lowest note) is the G just below middle C, then in ascending order D, A and E. Sheet music for violin almost always uses the G clef (treble clef ).

4 Violin Facts While playing the violin you can burn up to 170 calories per hour! The violin is the most popular instrument for children, it is also the most in demand instrument at the professional level. The modern violin has been around for roughly 500 years. It was designed in the 1500s. The violin used to be an instrument for the lower class, today it is highly regarded and respected as a difficult instrument to learn. The smallest violin in the world is less than 1 centimetre long (37 millimetres long) and small enough to fit inside a match box. It is made from a piece of wood the size of a thumbnail and took 7 years to make. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING MY PRESENTATION!!!!!!
