Spanish offered to pay their way 1769 to 1785 almost 10,000 Acadians came to Louisiana Settled in SW Louisiana near Bayou Teche

The New Orleans Fires 1788 & 1794 Good Friday 1788 Priest & the candle Church bells usually used / Easter remained silent Over 850 buildings destroyed included The Cabildo and St. Louis Cathedral The Next Six Years 1789 – 1785 Another fire & 3 hurricanes destroy New Orleans Children and hay Governor Carondelet rebuilt the city with Spanish architecture and brick had to be used for buildings over 1 story. Most of the French Quarter is Spanish!!
