9 Tolerance The Human Rights declaration said that all humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights, Everyone has the right to think what they want and express their opinions this is the basis of tolerance. Tolerance is accepting all people and valuing their contribution to life and society. People should be allowed to keep their own beliefs, practices and ways of life as long as they do not break the law. This does not mean agreeing with them it means respecting their rights to hold beliefs that some people belief are wrong. There are limits prejudice and racist views can harm people so cannot be tolerated

10 Justice All religions teach that people are equal. This means that all people have the same value and worth and the same rights to live and work freely and be happy and at peace. Religious believers feel that people should be treated with justice and according to the law. If laws are unjust religious people should work to change them.

11 Harmony Harmony means living at peace with others. It requires people to act justly and have tolerance and understanding of others, even if they are different. Many believers have a sense of community and feel responsible for others. They believe that by practising kindness and compassion and generosity within their religious communities will help them to live in harmony with the wider community in which they live.

12 Choose a task How does being prejudice or discriminating affect a persons human rights? If you believe in peace tolerance and harmony would you be prejudice or discriminate? How does believing in tolerance, justice and harmony change a persons behaviour?
