1 STRANGER DANGER Just Say No!

2 STRANGER DANGER Who is a stranger?
A stranger is somebody you don’t know. They can be a man or woman of any age. Most strangers are nice, but some are nasty and might want to harm children.

3 STRANGER DANGER The first time you meet a Police officer or your teacher they are strangers, but they are people you can trust and who will look after you. Strangers like a police officer or a teacher are safe to talk too.

4 STRANGER DANGER Always play with other children.
It is safer and more fun to be with friends – but make sure you tell your parents or carer where you are.

5 STRANGER DANGER Always go home the same way, don’t wander off.
Then everybody knows where you should be.

6 STRANGER DANGER Always ask your mum or dad before you go with anybody, even somebody you know.

7 Never take anything, even sweets, from a stranger.
STRANGER DANGER Never take anything, even sweets, from a stranger.

8 STRANGER DANGER Never get in a car or van with a stranger.
Never go near a strangers car, even if they shout you for help.

9 STRANGER DANGER If you are out shopping and you get lost from whoever is looking after you, you should try to find a safe person. These could be: A Police Officer A PCSO A Traffic Warden A shopkeeper in a shop A security guard at a shopping centre Somebody who you know

10 NEVER tell a STRANGER your name or address
STRANGER DANGER You should know your name and address, or a telephone number. If you are lost you will need to be able to tell the Police Officer these things so that they can get you home safely. NEVER tell a STRANGER your name or address

11 RUN, YELL AND TELL If somebody scares you, or tries to touch you in ways that make you feel uncomfortable… RUN – If a stranger comes up to you to and asks you to go with them you should RUN away as fast as possible and go to somewhere safe. YELL – As you RUN YELL ‘This is not my Mum/Dad’ or ‘HELP!’ at the top of your voice and make as much noise as possible. This will help scare the strange off. TELL – When you get home or to school TELL someone who you trust about what has happened.

12 If a stranger scares you go home and tell your patents straight away.
STRANGER DANGER REMEMBER: you can’t tell a good person from a bad person by looking at them. If a stranger scares you go home and tell your patents straight away. RUN, YELL, TELL!
