2 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 2 Purpose Of This Report The Order of the Arrow’s annual report to the Council Executive Board is a mandatory requirement for the Quality Lodge designation. The report is our chance to show the Board some of the accomplishments made by our team of Youth Leaders and their Advisers. The Order of the Arrow seeks to be an integral part of the Council’s program, objectives, and strategy. In providing this report, we invite you to share your feedback with us, both praise and criticism, so we can better serve you in the future. Cahuilla Lodge is proud to note the immense support for the Order’s program by the Executive Board of California Inland Empire Council # 45. Many board members are recipients of the Vigil Honor. Several past OA Lodge Chiefs and Lodge Advisers are represented. 3 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 3 The Chief Speaks Dear members of the California Inland Empire Council Executive Board, This past year has been very successful for the Cahuilla lodge. We started the year off as usual with a very successful lodge banquet. We had a great vigil weekend and added twelve new vigil members to our lodge. We had our usual three ordeals at Camp Emerson and one at Camp Helendade, as well as two summer camp ordeals. The ordeals brought in an incredible amount of hours of service alone. We had a very successful Fall Fellowship, as well as conclave weekends. We received 64 new brotherhood members as well as 216 new ordeal members. We hosted a service project at Joshua Tree National Park as well as the service given to our council camps and at the Stampede. Contacted –Joshua Tree National Park service project Area Corps 2, 45 Cahuilla participants –Section W4S Conclave Cahuilla Lodge hosted the conclave. Arrowman Kyle Sitarski served as 2011 Section Chief. Our lodge received the Traveling Ram Award and Indian Affairs Award. Total of 216Arrowmen Inducted in 2011 2011 Recipient of the E. Urner Goodman Camping Award

5 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 5 Annual Program –Ordeals 3 at Camp Emerson at Boseker Scout Reservation – Provided Valuable Service To Open and Close Summer Camp 2 during Summer Camp at Camp Emerson at Boseker Scout Reservation – Provided a Valuable Service To Scouts Attending Summer Camp 1 at Camp Helendade – Helped rework the main water feed and fix plumbing issues in the dinning hall.

6 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 6 Annual Program –Fall Fellowship Called Out 12 Arrowmen for the Vigil Honor. –Stampede Provided Indian Lore Merit badge counselors Gave out choker kits for youths to make Pancake Breakfast fund raiser

7 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 7 Annual Program Service to Scouting: Klondike Derby Staff Staff at all District Camporees Assist in Council Dinner Arrow of Light Presentations Webelos Woods, Webelosree, etc. Summer Camp Staff (unpaid) Council Camp Service Projects During Summer Camp, OA days were held every Wednesday.

8 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 8 Leadership Development Lodge Leadership Development Conference –Will be held in January 21 st, 2012 Topics Will Included: –Lodge Journey to Excellence –Team Building –Communication –Effective Elections Presentation –Youth and Adviser Relationships and Expectations –LodgeMaster training (New National OA Data base) This LLD is our first step towards achieving our goals for 2012

9 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 9 Membership Retention Total membership of Cahuilla Lodge –2008 = 615 –2009 = 640 –2010 = 650 –2011 = 665 Brotherhood Conversion –Over 33% in 2011 with 64 new members. –Vigil Honor Recipients –12 in 2011 Steady Positive Growth in 2011 216 New Ordeal Members This Year

10 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America 10 Quality Lodge Performance Quality Lodge 2011 Details –Lodge has met every requirement for Quality Lodge. This is the 7 th consecutive year! –Petitioned for the National Service Award –Petitioned for the E. Urner Goodman Camping Award (possibly the 5 th in 6 years!) Cahuilla Lodge #127 will receive the Quality Lodge Designation for the 7 th Year!

West Fellowships Ordeal Camp Service in minimum wage dollars $26,264. Council and Community Service in minimum wage dollars $143,736.00 Total Service in dollars $172,000.00

13 Order of the Arrow Cahuilla Lodge #127 California Inland Empire Council #45 Boy Scouts of America Mission of the Lodge The mission of the lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America in the council through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.
