3 ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 3 Commitment to Outdoor Program Long-term campers: decreased by 4% OA Members on staff at Camp Bunn and Camp Illinek How the Lodge promoted Camp Bunn: – OA assisted in Campapalooza for 2 nd year – OA Presented new Camp Video at Klondike Derby to All Scouts – The OA also promoted Camp Bunn at the and First Aid Meet Bunn Fire Bowl electrical now functional. Rebuilt seating at Camp Illinek Fire Bowl Installed first section of planned Breakwater at Pioneer Point. Additional improvements to Camps planned. 4 ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 4 Dedicated Service 4,741 hours of service –17 hours per Arrowmen Summer Camp activities –OA Social, Callouts, Brotherhood induction 3 service projects performed to support Camp Illinek and Camp Bunn –69 new Arrowmen –Projects included: Replacing 30 of footbridge, installing 75 of lake breakwater, building new benches, staining tables, benches and decks, chipping trails, removing deadfall, preparing camp. 4741 hrs of Service 49% increase over 2010 Camps Ordeals Workdays Council Community Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

Community Service –One Day of Service: 2,440 flags retired; Lodge worked with scouts and Arrowmen from all three districts. National Service –Four served at OA High Adventure Bases –Nine served on Summit Corps work crews Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America 4,741 hours of Service Camps Council New Cub Scout Day Webelos Woods Lincoln Pilgrimage Pancake Day Staff Community One Day of Service

Lodge Presence at the: –Council level- Lincoln Pilgrimage, Webelos Woods Section and National trainings –8 Arrowmen attended Section Conclave (conflicted with Webelos Woods) Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

8 ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 8 Membership Retention 6% growth over last year (up from 271 in 2010) Ceremonies team has worked hard to rebuild and reenergize. NADT currently is not functional. Lodge record for number involved in National High Adventure service projects – 13. Total membership –287 active Arrowmen in the lodge (+16) 116 Ordeal (69 new) 108 Brotherhood (34 new) 63 Vigil (4 new) Ordeal to Brotherhood conversion rate –42% in 2011 (Lodge Record High) Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

9 ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 9 Quality Lodge Performance Quality Lodge 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. National Service Award recipient for 2009. Illinek Lodge achieved Quality Lodge for sixth consecutive year Strengths (annually)- –Service to Bunn and Illinek, newsletters, Webelos transition, support to Lincoln Pilgrimage Improvement shown- –Brotherhood conversions, Ceremonies Opportunities (a.k.a. weaknesses)- –Troop representative program, Boy Scout camp promotion, unit election team training. 11 ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 11 National Programs Outdoor Programs: –Philmont Trail Crew Theodore Doellman & Andy Wilson. –Canadian Odyessy Caelan Parker –Ocean Adventure Patrick Richardson. –Summit Corps – West Virginia Chris Choate, Zach Conlee, Dick Gutmann, Davy Morehead, John Schmidt, Peter Schmidt, John Smith, Bob Smith, Joe Stannard. 182,000 members 1.4 million hours of service given Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

12 ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 12 Impact on Council Program Service: $81,620 (value of local labor) National Service: $13,200 (value of labor at national programs) Funds donated: $800 –Stain, building material, etc Camp Bunn Firebowl: $1,458 –Phase 1. Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America National Park Service suggested to OA National Committee that the value of OA labor could be stated as $20 / hour of service.
