13 Creating an account - customer does not have an existing BT telephone number If the customer doesn’t have a BT Telephone number, the base management team will need to allocate a CUG and an LE. If an existing BT Account cannot be found from the telephone number, an email will automatically be sent to the BTB Base Management Team You can create an opportunity without a CUG but if it is for Cloud Phone, Cloud Voice, BT One Phone or a BT Business Direct lead, the order/lead won’t progress anywhere without the CUG allocated to the account. The base management team will need the customer’s registered address and registered company number and the customer’s full trading name ( particularly for sole traders and partnerships). They may email the account creator to ask for further information. When they allocate the CUG they will email the account creator to confirm that it has been added to the account. It will then be visible in the CUG field.
