Online Application Tutorial We’re Hiring.

Register for a new account and take the first step towards and exciting career in the Public Service! Your personal information is valuable to us and is completely protected by a complex password you create. Remember, it must be at least 8 characters long, including at least one number, uppercase letter and lowercase letter (i.e.Public01).

You may attach your resumé and other documents to your profile during registration to save time during the application process. Remember to ensure your documents are closed prior to uploading to avoid registration error. You may highlight key skills and/or relevant certification or licenses for future general searches conducted by staff at the Public Service Commission.

Congratulations! You have now successfully set up your account! In order to activate it, click the link in the activation email we sent you.

Your profile can only be activated once you click the link contained in the email which is automatically generated by the online job portal after successful registration.

Now your account is activated!

It’s time to log in! Did you forget your password? No worries! Click the link below the Log In button and we will send you an email with instructions to reset it.

Simply click the “Activation Link” contained in the body copy of the email and you can create a new password. Remember, it must be complex; at least 8 characters, have at least one number, one uppercase letter and one lowercase letter.

Type in your new password and confirm by typing it a second time. If you decide to keep a paper copy, be sure to store it in a secure location.

Now that you are logged in, you may search through our posted jobs.

Click on the ‘Browse Public Jobs’ button to view a list of public employment opportunities or featured public employment opportunities, both of which allow you to apply online. Our site also displays other public employment opportunities for Public Service organizations. For these opportunities, please follow the specific application process outlined in the ad.

Click on the ‘Browse Internal Jobs’ button to view a list of internal employment opportunities or featured internal employment opportunities, both of which allow you to apply online. To be eligible for internal competitions, you must currently work for a department or agency scheduled to the Public Service Commission Act, or be on lay-off status, as per Government's Human Resource Policy Manual or applicable Collective Agreement. Any applicants not meeting these requirements will be screened from the competition process.

Another way to search our competition listings is to tailor your search by job type, department, location, etc.

Select a competition and click it to read the duties and qualifications to determine if it is just the career for which you have been waiting. When you have made your decision and are ready to apply, simply click the blue Apply Now button!

Information you had entered when you set up your profile will now populate onto the application page. You may change or update any of this information at this time, however it will not permanently change the original profile information you have entered.

If you uploaded a resume on your profile you may use that one or replace it with a more tailored resume for the position you are applying for. Remember to ensure your document is closed before trying to upload it. When complete, click the blue Apply Now button.

Congratulations! You have now successfully applied for a competition online. You will receive an automatically generated email indicating that you have a received a message from us.

Your email will ask you to login to your account to view your message.

Once you do that, you can see the specific competition for which you have applied. This listing is accurate, if you believe you applied for a competition or are unsure about a successful submission, check for the confirmation email. If it doesn’t show up in the list of submitted applications we may not have received your application. You should follow these steps again to ensure it was received.

If you meet the eligibility criteria to apply for an internal employment opportunity, select the competition number and open the job ad to review the duties and qualifications.

The main difference in an online application is the first section which must be accurately completed to show eligibility. All three fields must be completed. Please ensure you enter your start date and, if applicable, your end date as displayed.

The other sections of the internal application are the same as in a public application. Please ensure documents are closed prior to uploading.

The Public Service Commission online portal also displays Featured Public and Internal Employment Opportunities. You may review them by viewing the pdf file listed and then clicking the blue Apply Now button to follow the same online application process described earlier. Under the heading ‘Other Public Employment Opportunities’, applicants will find employment opportunities which have various methods in which to apply. They are indicated in each individual job ad.
