PAIR AND SHARE Look at your partner’s thumbnail sketch Share what details stand out/what is really interesting to you

RENDERINGS  Used by the costume team to build the costume.  Why might it be important to be detailed in your rendering?

COSTUME DESIGN CONTINUED Create a rendering for your character that includes:  A basic layer (ex: dress/shirt/pants)  A second layer (ex: sweater/vest) with a different texture or color.  Accessories (ex: necklace/watch/crown/belt/suspenders)  Shoes or hats/Attention to hair  Character name and description  Name of Show

RENDERINGS  Step 1: Basic layer.  Use the dress form to model the layers.  Show examples.  The basic layer is the dress/pants/t-shirt/etc.  Point out the flow, the fit, and the silhouette.

RENDERINGS Step 2: the second layer  add layer to the dress form  The second layer might include a sweater, a vest, or even a second shirt.  Think about color and texture. How can this second layer have added texture or colors? Perhaps this layer has a pattern.

RENDERINGS Step 3: accessories  Add layer of accessories to the dress form  The third layer might include necklaces, a watch, a belt, etc.

RENDERINGS Step 4: shoes/hair/hats  Add layer to the dress form.  The last layer involves the finishing touches such as shoes, hats, and hair.  Is there something in their hair?
