1 Spring Trip to Hershey Park

2 May 6-8 What to Bring. Blue Polo Band shirt. Khaki pants. Black socks/Marching band shoes or Black Dress shoes (Concert/Marching Band) Names on shoe bags and suitcase. Orchid Band T-shirt with shorts and Tennis shoes.(For Saturday) $25.00 should cover whatever they need. Whatever they need for over night stay in hotel. Their Dress for Sunday.-no requirement. (School rules applies)

3 Chaperones If you are a chaperone you are expected to work and help with all parts of the trip. Including loading and unloading buses, checking rooms, supervising students, all while having a nice time. This is not a vacation. Direct supervision is provided throughout the entire trip. All School rules apply to Chaperones as well.

4 Groups and Supervision Students have been grouped. Refer to sheet for grouping. Notice Mr. Privette has provided phone numbers of all the chaperones on the list. Groups generally have 1 to 2 chaperones each. Students stay with assigned groups. Students stay in assigned seats while riding on the bus. Rooms are broken up with 2 adult chaperones’ in between students room, every 2 or 3 rooms. No non chaperone adult may take a student from your group. Contact Mr. Privette ASAP.

5 Transportation We will be traveling on 3 charter buses. They can only have screw top bottles on the bus, no open containers on the bus that can not be secured. You may bring snacks, just clean up after yourself.

6 Departure Friday May 2:00 P.M. Report to Auditorium 2:30 P.M. Load Buses 3:00 P.M.Depart for Hersey Pa. 7:00 P.M. Stop for Dinner on the way. (Included in package with meals) depending on where we are. 8:00 P.M.Load Buses for Hotel. 10:00 P.M. Arrive at hotel in Hersey PA. Best Western Inn Hershey Rt. 422 and Sipe Avenue Hershey, PA 17033 10:30 P.M. In room with lights out (Sleep)

7 Arriving at Hotel Upon arrival to the hotel the students will wait at the buses. Keys will be distributed to the room captain. Get in groups. Each room has a room captain. (Mr. Privette makes this decision) Students are responsible for carrying all their belongings to their rooms. Instruments stay on the bus. Once the bus is unloaded, they will be dismissed with their chaperones to their rooms. A master room list may be provided to all chaperones. (this may take some time-because we will not have use of a copy machine. We will give you rooms that you are in charge of, they will be beside you in the hotel. This may or may not be your chaperon group. After the children are settled in, some chaperones will need to assist making sure the students are sleeping and not talking during the night. We have a early wake up call. We do have Security Personnel to help during the night for safety.

8 Friday evening Lights out 10:30. Chaperone meeting after lights out in hall to go through Saturday information. Quick meeting.

9 Saturday Breakfast at 6:00 AM Wake up get dressed in Blue Polo band shirt, khaki pants, black socks and marching band shoes/dress shoes- go to breakfast. EVERYONE. Some students may want to eat breakfast first then change, but they will need to eat and not socialize to much. Students must carry a small clothes bag to the bus and have it with them in their seat. This bag will have their Orchid band t-shirt and a pair of shorts or pants to change into after we perform. Along with a pair of tennis shoes. Students should also have in the bag what they need in the park that day. (money, sunblock) Students not in Marching Band need to be in their Blue Polo band shirt, khaki pants, black socks and dress shoes leaving the hotel.

10 Saturday’s Plan 6:00 A. M. Wake-up- Get Dressed in Band Polo Shirt and khakis pants, Black shoes/Black socks. 6:50 A.M.Breakfast at the hotel (included in package with meals) 7:45 A.M.Depart for the Area Middle/High School for Music Showcase Festival 8:05 A.M.Arrive at the Central Dauphin East Middle School, 628 Rutherford Road Harrisburg, PA. 17109 for Music Showcase festival 8:20 A.MWarm up for performance 8:45 A.MMarching Band Perform for the judges 9:25 A.M. Concert Band Warm-up Will need several Chaperones to help with setup. 9:50 A. M. Concert Band Performance 10:20 A.M.Pack up equipment on buses/get clothes to change into for Hershey Park. Boys on 6th and 8th grade bus, girls on 7th grade bus to change. 10:45 A.M.Leave area Middle School and head for Hersey Park for some fun. 11:10 A.M. 2 Meal Coupons to be used in park for Lunch and Dinner (when you get hungry) 6:50 P.M. Be at the Tidal Force Pavilion Awards Ceremony for Awards Ceremony 7:45 P.M. Enjoy more of the park. 10:00 P.M. Hershey Park and HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD (Shop) closing. 10:05 P.M. Load Bus to return to the hotel. 10:20 P.M. Pack things you will not need for the morning. 10:50 P.M. Lights Out- (sleep)

11 Day Three Sunday May 8 th 7:00 A.M.Wake up/Get ready/Finish packing. 8:00 A.M.Breakfast buffet at hotel (included in package with meals) 9:00 A.M.Load bus and Depart for the Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, PA 10:00 A.M.Attend Gettysburg Military Park. 1:00 P.M. Lunch (included in package with meals) 2:00 P.M.Depart for home 7:00 P.M.Arrive at PAMS

12 We know everyone is ready to go BUT… Help at school is essential Chaperones are tired from a long day. Please help to unload the busses All instruments must be brought into the band room. Your help is always appreciated It’s going to be a great trip
