2.  I have been asked to create a logo for Mega Pool Saver, which is a company that offers swimming pool owners advanced energy saving devices such as speed controllers that can be used with single pool pumps.  The client has asked me to design a logo that shows the target audience that the company is environmentally friendly.

3.  My logo design is effective because it is a simple design that can be imprinted onto pens, business cards, letterheads etc to help advertise the company without the text on the logo being difficult to read.  I also think it will stand out from other companies because it is has a very clean look to it.  The colour that I have chosen to be featured in my logo is blue the reason being is because it is a very eye catching colour and also symbolizes trust and loyalty.  The colour is also known to promote company products and services that related to cleanliness which is what the purpose of the products that Mega Pool Saver offer.

4.  Since Mega Pool Saver offers products that increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption by 80% I decided to surround the text with a blue circle which symbolizes the Earth because the products are more economical to run because it reduces CO2 emissions.  I wanted to keep the design sample so I decided to draw a wave which also relates to the company’s purpose. I added more character to the logo by making the wave go through one of the O’s in the word “Pool”.  The font used in the logo is suitable because it makes the company look customer friendly which is the way I want to portray the company.

5.  After choosing a logo design from several sketches I had drawn, I opened Adobe Illustrator to begin the creation of the logo.  My log design was created by using the oval tool to make the perfect circle, then selected a suitable font style to place over the circle. I centred the font and adjusted the size several times so that the font was perfectly centred.  I used the brush tool to create a wave and arranged it to be placed behind the font. I made the wave look like it was flowing through one of the O’s by using the brush tool again. I also made a black outline on both the circle and font to make it stand out more.

6.  This is my letterhead I have designed for Mega Pool Saver.  It features the logo in plain sight which is easy for the target audience to see.  Contains visible contact information for the target audience.  Text stands out from background.  Doesn’t take up a large area of the page.  It offers a large amount of space for text.

7.  The logo is made very visible so that it catches the eye of pool owners because it takes up ¼ of the business card.  The text is large so that the target audience can see the information clearly without struggling to see it.  The light blue in the background does not blend in with the other visuals but instead makes them stand out more. The light blue also relates to the company’s profession.

8.  In this compliment slip I have made the logo very large that it takes up 1/3 of the slip so that it attracts the target audience.  I have made the company’s name and location very noticeable which will make the slip effective in catching the attention of the pool owner.  I have made allowed the slip to feature a large blank space so that the company can fit a suitable amount of text when thanking customers.

9.  I am very confident that my logo design will help Mega Pool Saver enhance the sales of their products because it has a friendly tone to it which is what pool owners want to see when buying from the company. The logo also looks trustworthy because it is simple and not trying too hard to catch the eye of its target audience.
