2. Where is it?

3.  Dearne Valley is part of the Kingswood group of residential centre.  It is their most environmentally sustainable centre, complete with one of Europe’s largest solar panels and an on-site waste recycling plant.  Spread across 50 acres, making for one large outdoor classroom with opportunities for interactive learning across grassland, woodland and wetland  Facilities - Ropes courses, an indoor climbing wall, zipwires, a 105 m 2 indoor sports hall and outdoor sports complex The centre

6.  We will be going to Dearne Valley on Wednesday 3 rd June until Friday 5 th June.  We will leave school at approximately 9.30am and be back on the Friday for the end of school. Dates

8.  Our list of activities is still to be confirmed but we have chosen a range of activities to suit all.  These include some outdoor activities as well as more creative, alternative and relaxing activities.  We have tried to incorporate different areas of the curriculum where possible.  All activities are led by fully qualified professionals. 10.  Closer to the time we will ask children to write down 3 people they wish to share with and we will endeavour to place children with at least one of their nominated friends. Sleeping arrangements

11.  All dormitories have en-suite bathrooms and 4-10 beds.  Students sleep in warm purpose-built dormitory-style accommodation. Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided for all guests.  Staff dormitories are located around the children’s dormitories for supervision purposes.  All children will be informed of fire and safety regulations on arrival by centre staff.

12.  Children will require a packed lunch for the first day.  ALL other meals will be provided. Children will be provided with 3 hot meals per day specifically tailored according to Government guidelines to be nutritionally balanced. Meals

14.  All medicine/ tablets must be prescribed by a doctor and accompanied by a completed medical form.  Any other/ emergency medication requires a separate medical form to be completed e.g. travel sickness tablets.  Please only send necessary medication with your child.  Inhalers kept at school will be taken with us on the trip.
