18. Countable and uncountable nouns In English, we can count some things, e.g. rivers and mountains. We cannot count other things, e.g. water and air. 19. Work out the rule (Countable/Uncountable) nouns can have plurals. We can use a or an before (countable/uncountable) nouns. Uncountable nouns only take (singular/plural) verbs.
