2. GAZİANTEP IS ONE OF THE OLDEST CıTY ıN SOUTH EAST OF TURKEY AND IT IS OUR HOMETOWN.

3. Gaziantep, previously and still informally called Antep, is a city in southeast Turkey and among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. The city has two urban districts under its administration, Şahinbey and Şehitkamil. It is the sixth most popular city in Turkey.

4. Originally known as Antep, the title gazi (meaning veteran in Turkish) was added to the province’s and the provincial capital’s name in 1921, due to its population’s extraordinary courage during the Turkish War of Independence. Atatürk said ‘How I could not love the Gaziantep people ; they did not just save Gaziantep, but the whole Turkey’

5. ECONOMY Gaziantep is famous for its regional specialties: the copper-ware products and "yemeni" slippers, specific to the region, are two examples. Also Gaziantep has the largest organized industrial area in Turkey and holds first position export and import goods.

6. Gaziantep is one of the leading producers of machined carpets in the world. It exported approximately $700 million USD of machine- made carpets in 2006. There are over 100 carpet facilities in the Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone Gaziantep also has a developing tourist attaraction.

7. PLACES OF INTEREST ZEUGMA MOSAİC MUSEUM Zeugma Mosaic Museum, in the town of Gaziantep,Turkey, is the biggest mosaic museum on the world,containing 1700 m2 of mosaics.It opened to the public on 9 September 2011.

8. The Gypsy Girl (Menad) Mosaic This mosaic was found in dining room of the house of Gypsy Girl (Menad). The figure became the symbol of Zeugma because of the mysterious look she had in her eyes

CASTLE OF GAZIANTEP Gaziantep Castle is one of the most beautiful examples of castles which is still safe and sound in Turkey.Although there is no information about when and who constructed the castle. BEY NEIGBOURHOOD Almost every neigbourhood in gaziantep takes its name from a mosque.Bey Neigbourhood situated on a hill and takes its name from Bey Mosque. Bey Mosque was heavily damaged during the war against French forces and has not survived but still Bey Neigbourhood is alive.

10. GAZIANTEP ZOO Gaziantep zoo is the biggest zoo of Turkey, second in the Europe and third in the world.There are 90 kinds of birds,74 kinds fish, 10 kinds of monkeys and the other kinds of animals in Gaziantep zoo.
