3 In 1665 Jan Sobieski married Maria Kazimiera d’Arquien. She was his great love. They had together 15 children. The king built for his wife a beautiful palace in Wilanów near Warsaw.

5 In 10 July of 1683 Turkish army of the Ottoman Empire started the siege of Vienna. Whole Europe was under threat of Turkish expansion. The battle was a turning point, after which the Ottoman Empire’s expansion in Europe came to its end.
