If you have not completed the option you would like to choose in your lesson time so far this week speak to others who have completed the rotation or the subject teacher.

5 Textiles, Art and Graphical Communication  Sketchbook work with opportunities to produce work in a variety of materials  Sketchbook work will require written annotation and research  Final pieces will be developed through your sketchbook in the material of your choice  40% Practical Exam, 60 % Practical Controlled assessment (consisting of all of the work that is produced over the two years in lesson).

6 ART  You will need to be motivated and creative and want to develop your thinking and designing skills  You will learn skills across a wide variety of materials including printing, sculpture, drawing and painting  Everything you do in year 10 and 11 counts towards your final grade and you would be expected to do 1 hour of homework a week.

7  If you choose Textiles you will be given the opportunity to develop as a creative thinker, designer and maker.  You will learn a range of skills and study a range of artists in order to transfer your observational research on to fabrics in variety of different ways.  You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and put in at least an hour a week independently of your own time into the work.

8 Graphics If you enjoy: developing practical and digital skills presenting sketchbooks or school work in interesting ways being creative, enthusiastic and imaginative Everything you make is part of the GCSE programme. classwork studies and Independent Learning tasks are assessed as a whole body of work You will have the opportunity to experiment with different media in order to explore your strengths and preferences.

9 Resistant Materials  Design folder work will include Research, Sketching, Drawing, Modelling and Computer Design  Practical's in a variety of materials  A written exam paper at the end (expect theory lessons)  40% written Paper, 60% Practical and folder work

10 Resistant materials  Storage Project- folder and practical  C/A chosen from a variety of different briefs  Theory lessons on designers, designing, materials, tools, techniques and H&S  Students would be expected to completed 1 hour of homework a week

11 Food Preparation and Nutrition  Diet  Nutrition and health,  Economic, environmental and ethical influences on food  Production processes  Food safety considerations when preparing, processing, storing, cooking and serving food. Final assessment consists of 3 parts: 50% Written Examination: Students will sit one paper at the end of year 11. (1hr 30) 15% Written Report: Students will research and investigate food through practical experimentations and then produce a written report that must be between 1500 and 2000 words. 35% Food Preparation: Prepare, cook and present three dishes within a single period of no more than three hours and plan, in advance, how this will be achieved.

12 Food Technology Students who take food technology should: Have a passion for food Be prepared to do both practical, theory and written reports that are part of the course Have a flair for designing, modifying and adapting recipes Students will also be expected to do 1 hour of homework a week.
