5. PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL 5 How does it work ? Each student is given a active RFID based identity card similar to regular student ID Card. RFID Readers with GPS/GPRS connectivity for communication are placed at strategic locations in the school and in vehicles.

6. PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL 6 When the student with Smart ID card comes within 50 metres of the reader, the reader records his presence.

7. PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL 7  Periodically the reader sends the student's tag information and GPS coordinate details (if the reader is placed in the vehicle) through GPRS to remote server.

8. PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL 8 An application in the server processes the data and sends out SMS/Email alerts to parents/school authorities. It also generates reports for the school records.
