8 © KEDS 2015 Changes to Approved Assessments 5 approved assessment instruments GOLD, COR Advantage, Work Sampling, AEPS, Carolina Districts must select one of these approved assessments, and train teachers accordingly.

9 © KEDS 2015 Collection of Assessment Data ALL required students must have complete assessments: A. Every item must have a score or data are incomplete! B. Every online child record must have a unique 10-digit student SSID, or data are incomplete! C. Every district must ensure that KEDS has administrative access to their online assessment data, each year. D. Many off-site programs and Head Start centers may not be aware of this policy; it is district responsibility to be sure data are complete and received by KEDS. 9

10 © KEDS 2015 Teaching Strategies GOLD With the Teaching Strategies GOLD, can teachers use the "Not Observed" or "Not Yet" choices? With GOLD, you are allowed to use the Not Yet option for items for which the student has no level of skill attainment; NOTE that is a score that we do receive in KEDS. The Not Observed option is reserved for items that have not been seen, but we do NOT encourage this option as we do not receive any score for such items and must consider that item as missing data. If more than 25% of the items are missing, including those marked Not Observed, that student’s data will be incomplete and will not be included in the OSEP analysis.
