2 ABOUT SCHOOL 112 year-old building Year of foundation: 1897 Number of students: more than 600 20 classes, 4 classes in each year School’s type: technical school Bilingual language business training: since 2001 Uniform:  Girls: sailor blouse, black skirt  Boys: Baross-tie, black trousers

3 SCHOOL BUILDING 5 minutes from the centre of Győr modern, three-storey building Classrooms:  22 classrooms  5 computer rooms  1 training office  language laboratory with computers  gym, sports ground  library with 16,000 books  Baross-Hall

4 ABOUT SCHOOL Training time: after 4 or 5 years of studying students take the school-leaving exam, then they can get a profession in one year. 60% of the students live in the country. 50 students live in a student hostel. Mainly girls attend our school, the rate of the boys is 20% Eating possibilities:  School canteen: lunch break after 4th and 5th lessons  School tuck shop

9 HUNGARIAN-AUSTRIAN BILINGUAL BUSINESS TRAINING 10-13th years  general subjects in Hungarian language  German language 5 lessons a week, English language 3 lessons a week  In German language: I nformatics, Social Studies, Economic Vocational subjects (Typing, Code of Behavior, Training Office, Accounting, Introduction to Economics, Enterprise Economics, Business Studies) At the end of the 13th year  Bilingual school leaving exam

10 WHAT IS THE TRAINING ABOUT? It provides marketable knowledge Vocational education in English/German A good I.T. knowledge in English/German Bilingual school-leaving exam, which is worth 50 extra points in higher education After that you can continue your studies at a university or college abroad

11 9th year  14 language lessons per week (English or German) 7 lessons of Grammar 7 lessons of Communication  5 lessons of Informatics per week (English or German)  Hungarian language, History, Mathematics, Methodology of Learning, Health Education, P.E. LANGUAGE PREPARATORY YEAR (ENGLISH/GERMAN) + ECONOMIC TRAINING

12 10-13th years  Economic training  Main language: 5 lessons per week  Second foreign language (English or German): 2 lessons per week  Informatics and Economics in a foreign language  The possibility of taking an ECDL-exam At the end of the 13th year  School-leaving exam

13 WHAT IS THE TRAINING ABOUT? It provides a good knowledge of languages and Informatics Essential economic knowledge both in Hungarian and a foreign language High level computer skills Also provides good vocational knowledge in training financial administrators after the school-leaving exam

14 9-10th year  General subjects  Vocational subjects: Typing Economic Environment Code of Behavior and Communication  Foreign languages (English/German) Main language: 4 lessons per week Second foreign language: 2 lessons per week ECONOMIC TRAINING AND SECRETARIAL TRAINING

15 11-12TH YEARS  General subjects and foreign language education  Vocational training: Economics Business Studies (Financial Accountancy, Studies, Statistics, Entrepreneurship) Training office training and Applied Informatics  General subjects and foreign language education  Vocational training: Administration and Management (Applied Informatics, Business English or German) ECONOMIC TRAINING SECRETARIAL TRAINING At the end of the 12th year: school-leaving exam.

16 WHAT IS THE TRAINING ABOUT? In the training office the students can get to know how a real company works before actually taking up a job They study Accountancy, Statistics, acquire a basic knowledge of Taxing, Economic Law, Marketing Prepares for going to higher education e.g. University of Economics High level typing skills. High level computer skills in administration and management Business correspondence in mother language and foreign language Communication in business situations in a foreign language ECONOMIC TRAINING SECRATARIAL TRAINING

19 POSSIBILITIES AFTER TEACHING Programs organized by the student-council (karaoke, poker, chess-competition, balls, fresher's camp) Special occasions (prom, school-leaving ceremony) Cultural programs: theatre, cinema, opera, school trips English and German afternoons (quizzes, performances, presentations, cooking competitions)

28 STUDENT DAY STUDENT DAY The students come to power, on this day there are no lessons, just games, competitions, concerts, lots of fun.

29 SCHOOL LEAVERS’ CEREMONY SCHOOL LEAVERS’ CEREMONY The school leavers’ celebration. The ribbon symbolizes the end of the school.
