1 Email Definitions

2 Inbox – Incoming emails are stored in the Inbox Sent Box – Set your email system to save your sent messages.

3 Trash Box – After deleting an email it appears in the Trash Box. You must empty the trash box to completely get rid of an email.

4 New Message – Opens a new email message for you to compose.

5 Cc: Carbon Copy Sends a copy of the email to a third party. The email is not to that person they are just receiving a copy of it.

6 Subject – A brief description of what the email is about. Needs to be short and to the point.

7 Attachment – Send another file along with the email that will be opened separately from the email itself. Opening an email will NOT open the attachment. Usually symbolized by a paperclip

8 Reply – Sends a message back to someone who sent you a message.

9 Reply to All – Sends a message back to everyone that received an email.

10 Forward – Sends the message to a third party.

11 Spam – Junk Mail Typically an advertisement From someone you don’t know

12 Phishing – An email typically from someone you don’t know fishing for your personal information.
