5 2005/9/45 Where to focus on - Preparations  You have only less than 3.5 minutes to talk……  Rule of Three:  Sandwich approach: Merit-Weakness-Merit  Content, Delivery, Wordings  Practice more on the analytical capability (40%)  Listening and Observation  Illustrate your suggestions in details & specifically  Build up connections to the speaker, the audience and the judges

6 2005/9/46 Samples of Opening  It’s my honor to evaluate xxx’s speech.  Ladies and Gentlemen, Honorable judges and Distinguished guests, Contest master…….  It’s a pleasant experience to listen to xxx’s speech because it’s so humorous and meaningful.  “To be or Not to be”. Yes, the speaker was hesitating in making a choice, but in the end he did make a decision and strided out of his comfort zone….  A speech starting with a joke is easy to win audience’s attention. But sometimes, it’s easy to lose the focus too. However, the speaker managed to keep the audience in concentration, and also keep the speech in focus.
