 You will be allowed at your locker 4 times a day: 1. Before homeroom 2. Before lunch 3. After lunch 4. At the end of the day  Before homeroom, get all the books and materials that you will need for Periods 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (that includes your gym clothes!)

 Go straight from your locker to homeroom.  Turn in all papers that need to go to the office.  Stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.  Listen to the announcements.

 Do not go to your locker!  Go straight to your 1st period class.  Don’t forget the school hallway procedures on your way to class. (Periods 1 & 2)

 After 2 nd Period, go back to your SSR/MORE classroom.  If you’re in SSR, don’t forget your SSR book!  For the first few weeks, you will be reporting to your homeroom – no SSR or MORE.

1.Don’t be late to class! If you are late and do not have a pass, there will be consequences. 2.Update your agenda right away. 3.Always have your SSR book with you in class.

If you need to leave the room: 1.You must first ask the teacher. 2.Then you will sign out. 3.If you abuse this policy, we are prepared to only allow you a certain number of times each month with your own pass.

If you need to leave the room: 4. If you lose your pass, you must wait until the next month for another one. 5. You may only use a pass with your name on it – no trading passes!

At the end of class: 1.Don’t begin packing up until your teacher instructs you. 2.Take a look around your area before you leave and make sure that it is clean and the desks are straight. 3. Stay in your seat until your teacher dismisses you.

Other things to know: 1.There is NO gum chewing in science class or computer labs. 2.Periodically, your teachers will give you 10-15 minutes to organize your binder.

It is not easy to be a substitute teacher and therefore, we feel that the students should behave more appropriately when the teacher is not there. If a student misbehaves for a substitute, that student will automatically receive a detention from the teacher.

 After fifth period, go to your locker, get your lunch, and go down the EIGHTH GRADE STAIRWELL.  Don’t linger in the restrooms.  After lunch, stop at your locker and get all the books and materials that you’ll need for the rest of the day.

 In the case of a discipline issue, your teacher will give you a detention slip.  A parent/guardian must sign the slip, and you must return it within THREE days.  If you fail to return the slip, a phone call home will be made, and a second detention will be issued.  Examples of how to get a detention: ◦ Disrespect a teacher ◦ Disrespect a student ◦ Fail to follow teacher instructions ◦ Inappropriate language/behavior ◦ Lateness to class

 You may serve your detention on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday morning. You must arrive at 7:30am.  You may also serve your detention on Monday through Thursday afternoons, from 2:40 to 3:15pm.  If you ignore detention slips, you will be referred to the office for administrative discipline.

 After three detentions, you will meet with the eighth grade teachers.  The eighth grade teachers will meet or call your parents as well.  At this meeting, we will discuss your behavior, how to improve, and possible more serious consequences for continued misbehavior.

 As of September 2011, NJ State Legislation passed a law requiring all educational facilities and staff to report ANY incidences of harassment, intimidation, and bullying of ANY KIND.  Harass: to create an unpleasant or hostile situation for another person, especially by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct  Intimidate: to make timid or fearful : frighten; especially : to compel or deter by or as if by threatsfrighten  Bully: to treat abusively, or to affect by means of force or coercion

 This includes any incidents that occur outside of school, including, but not limited to: text and media messaging, social networking (Facebook, etc.), phone conversations, school functions.  In other words, there is no safe place to intimidate, harass, or bully another person.  Any reports of intimidation, harassment, or bullying will be reported in writing to the principal, superintendent, parents, and the Board of Education.  WE MUST FOLLOW THE LAW.
