4. Grammar (1st semester) o The demostrative pronouns: din, dan, dawn, dik, dak, dawk o Nouns: Common and Proper o Nouns: Singular and Plural o Plural: (Sħiħ and Miksur) o Gender: Feminine and Masculine o Numbers

5. Objectives Listening: o Students will be able to answer questions related to what they have heard. o Students will be able to discuss their opinion regarding something they listened to with the rest of the class. o Students will be given the opportunity to predict the end of a story they have listened to. o Students will be helped to develop a coherent line of thought while commenting about something they listened to.

6. Objectives Speaking: o Students are to speak Maltese during the Maltese class. o Students will be given structured tasks which would in turn help them gain the ability to speak to an audience about a subject of their own choice. o Students will be given tasks which would help them learn how to express their opinions about the theme currently at hand. o Students will be given task which would help them learn how to give instructions in a practical exercise.

7. Objectives Reading: o Students will read different genres like stories, legends, poetry, newspapers, magazins and drama. o Students are to answer, both orally and in writing, to questions related to what they have read. o Students will practise scanning for meaning and gist of a text. This will in turn help them to improve their reading comprehension skills.

8. Objectives Writing: o Students will be able to write more complex sentences with correct punctuation and structure. o Students will be able to write paragraphs about a theme. o Students will be able to structure their writing into a composition format: introduction, body, conclusion. o Students will be helped to stucture their ideas using mind maps.
