4 OPENING STATEMENT I do believe that I have transformed as a leader after taking this class. I have learned a lot about myself and what ways of leadership coincide best with my strengths and values.

5 SECTION 1 SELF LEADERSHIP 11. Student will describe goals and objective statements regarding personal issues, career issues, and community issues My goals regarding my personal issues are to become the best Person that I can be. I want to continue to have a great relation-ship with my family and be the best person that I can be for them. For my career issues, I want to become a special education Teacher for students in the elementary school level. My goals For community issues I am going to be helping out at the town pool this summer and teaching young children how to swim.

6 SECTION 2 Leadership Theory and Models 25. Frogbridge Day Camp I was a camp councilor at Frogbridge Day Camp. There were several students Who suffered from disabilities. I used Awareness and the commitment to the Growth of people to help them learn how To apply sunscreen. I was aware that They were not able to do this simple Task and I helped them grow by Teaching them how to apply the Sunscreen. When the girls in my group Were frustrated about not being able to Do this task, I used healing to help them Feel better and encourage them to keep Trying. I had empathy for them when I knew they could not complete the task. I felt bad for them and then helped them To the best of my ability. I persuaded Them to want to apply their own Sunscreen because it was a skill that They could use in their future. I used Conceptualization by teaching the girls The concepts and steps of putting on Sunscreen. I used foresight in Predicting how teaching the girls was Going to go and the challenges that I was Going to have to face. I used stewardship When I managed the situation was in And was able to do it on my own. I Built a community by working together With the girls in my group and they Helped each other which made them Closer.

7 SECTION 3 Inclusive Leadership / Diversity and its application to leadership 65. I am running for the position of Vice President Of Philanthropy for my sorority. Since Elections aren’t till next semester, so I have Been shadowing the person in the position Currently. I am working on being a change Agent by facilitating several events for my Sorority that will help others. As a change Agent, we are trying to make greek life and Others students at URI come together and Help people. I helped facilitate the Turtle Tug Which is an event that we brought on campus. All the money that we raise goes to our Philanthropy that helps children who are Terminally ill. I am being a change agent Because I am bringing my community Together and I am helping people in need.

8 SECTION 4 Critical Thinking 74. I was a peer leader at my high school and had The opportunity to go on a retreat. We Learned several things about leadership. We Spent a large amount of our time learning About mediation. At first we watched the Upper classman give a mediation, then we Learned everything that goes into a mediation, And finally we applied our skills and was able To facilitate our own mediation. Whenever There was a confrontation at school, the Guidance councilors would call the peer Leaders and we would mediate the issue. I have run over 20 mediations and could Easily facilitate one at any time.

9 SECTION 5 (Interpersonal and Organizational Concepts and Skills ) 93. When working in groups, it is very important For everyone to have their own roles. For my GWS 150 class, our final project was to create An action project. We decided in order to have A functioning group and successful Presentations that we would have to create Roles. My role was to contact the peer Advocates to come and present at our Project. Fortunately, every member of the Group did what their role was and we created A successful project that led us to have a good Group dynamic and a good grade.
