2 VERBAL/LINGUISTIC Well-developed verbal skills and sensitivity to the sounds, meanings and rhythms of words People who demonstrate strength in the language arts: speaking, writing, note taking, reading, and listening.

3 MATHEMATICAL/LOGICAL Ability to think conceptually and abstractly, and capacity to discern logical or numerical patterns People who display an aptitude for numbers, reasoning, formulas, and problem solving.

4 VISUAL/SPATIAL Capacity to think in images and pictures, to visualize accurately and abstractly. They like to see what you are talking about in order to understand. They enjoy charts, graphs, diagrams, tables, illustrations, or anything eye catching.

5 BODILY/KINESTHETIC Ability to control one's body movements and to handle objects skillfully People who experience learning best through activity: experiments, movement, hands-on tasks, building. These people are often labeled "overly active"

6 MUSICAL/RHYTHMIC Ability to produce and appreciate rhythm, pitch, and timber. People who learn well through patterns, rhythms, instruments, and musical expression. These people often use tricks such as pneumonic devices or jingles to help them memorize information.

7 INTERPERSONAL Capacity to detect and respond appropriately to the moods, motivations and desires of others They do their best learning cooperatively in groups or with a partner. These people are typically identified as "talkative" or "too concerned about being social“.

8 INTRAPERSONAL Capacity to be self-aware and in tune with inner feelings, values, beliefs and thinking processes People who are especially in touch with their own feelings, values, and ideas. They tend to be reserved, but they are quite intuitive about what they learn and how it relates to themselves.
