2 Verbal/Linguistic This learner focuses on words and language to express themselves and to remember information. The student will do best at oral presentations and written tasks Ideal Profession: a writer, lawyer or poet

3 Musical/Rhythmical This learner is sensitive to rhythm, pitch and tone This learner needs the opportunity to listen to and create music or to play an instrument, sing or dance Possible professions: composer, singer, and conductor

4 Logical/Mathematical This learner will be able to detect numerical patterns, calculate and think logically This student will do well with experiments, categorization and computer programming Possible professions: finance-related business, scientist, computer programmer

5 Visual/Spatial This learner as the ability to perceive and manipulate forms and objects with focus on images and pictures This student will do best expressing his knowledge through drawing and painting Possible professions: artists, engineers, architects

6 Bodily-Kinesthetic This learner has the ability to use the body for skillful function and coordinated movement This student will excel in dramatization, hands-on activities and other physical activities Possible professions: dancer, athlete, craftsperson, surgeon

7 Intrapersonal/Individual This learner has the ability to know one’s own feelings, desires and goals in order to make the proper life-long decisions This student needs to be allowed to explore his own interests and abilities with long-term meaningful projects Will do best being self-employed in a field of personal interest

8 Interpersonal/Social This learner has the ability to interact appropriately with others and read into their moods, motivations and intentions. This student will do well with group discussions and group projects Possible professions: political or religious leader, supervisors, teachers, counselors

9 Naturalist The newest intelligence This student has the ability to recognize and classify natural surroundings such as flowers, rocks and trees This student enjoys the opportunity to go outside or to bring nature into the classroom Possible professions: park ranger, botanist, chef

10 Conclusion Throughout the years Howard Gardner’s, Multiple Intelligence Theory, has changed the way many educators teach. This theory allows students time to nurture and develop their own intelligences. It also has allowed students to discover their own strengths and put more effort into improving their weak areas.
