2.  Bring out the importance of IDT in Statutory / Internal & other audits  Bring out the value additive nature of IDT  Encourage Members to enter this area- add this area to their present practice  Those already in one area { say VAT or ST} to encourage them to get into other areas.

3.  Provide practical inputs for those who have some theoretical idea.  Share information/ methods to add more services in existing subject.  Provide a base for further subject specialisation: FTP + Customs, Anti Dumping, etc.  Provide a base for being a tax expert in a vertical- Real Estate; ITS & ITES; Advertising…….

4.  Presently the 2 nd Edition considering the Finance Act as passed in May 2012.  The proposed dramatic change in ST – Negative list, etc.  Provides basic aspects of the Constitution as relevant to taxes; idea of the allied laws; some practical / procedural issues.  Around 50 pages – general, customs, central excise, VAT concepts, FTP and 250 pages to ST

5.  Opportunities- overview of IDT, Fiscal Responsibilities, in detail – CE, Cus, ST, VAT- Order may be as convenient  Any topics not taken satisfactorily can be repeated with alternate faculty.  Ending with allied laws, Multi tax case study and Moot Court  Examination- 50% objective, 50% Short Answers.  After passing – added to panel maintained- maybe shared with Revenue dept for audit / investigation related work.

6.  Faculties list provided to ensure quality- to be fixed by branch  Guidelines on how to conduct the Course are given to Course director/ co-ordinators  Printed Material provided  Course need not have any surplus

7.  Feedback to enable evaluation of faculty  Also, if some sessions are to be taken again  Flexibility of adding a day in the end if some topics felt as important
