1. Dick Hoyt thought about what Rick needed more than what he needed or wanted. Making his son happy and giving him a good life was all he wanted to do. When Rick wanted to start doing marathons Dick was more than happy to do this for his son. Rick may have needed his fathers legs and arms but in Dick’s eyes Rick was running the race. This to me is a true hero because Dick dedicated his whole life to making a beautiful life for his son. It takes a lot of courage and selflessness to be able to give everything to one person. 2. Rick Hoyt has cerebral palsy. Which is a condition where the muscles have spasms and are uncontrollable. Rick does try to look past this disorder. 4. The story of rick and dick hoyt has a very powerful effect on people. What Dick showed people is that anything is possible. He just cared about his son more than his self. He is a great role model for parents. Dick could have easily given up his son but he didn’t. He kept on trying harder. The lesson he tried to teach people is that anything is possible and if you love someone you will do anything for them.

5. The biggest hero of my life would have to be my mother. She is the strongest person I know. When I have had really hard times my mom was the only one that was there for me. She made me a stronger person. Me and my mom have been through a lot. We have the biggest connection. Im just like her in so many different ways. I look up to her. She is my hero and always will be.

6. Dick had a lot of courage to take on all the responsiblities that he did. When he found out that rick had a condition he knew it would be extremely hard to raise rick with the disorder that he had. But in Dick’s eyes rick is just like everyone else. When I first heard of this story I felt so sad but really inspired at the same time. I felt sad beause of Rick’s poor condition. But then I smiled because rick was really happy. This horrible disorder did not stop him from seeing the world or accomplishing anything that he wanted to. That was the most inspiring part to me. A lot of people would never have even given their children a chance if they had a disease like rick hoyt. But dick did. He showed people that love is unconditional. In my life I would love to do something for someone that they could not do for themselves.
