2 What do you know about a sentence?
A sentence is a group of words that tell a whole idea. A sentence starts with a capital letter. A sentence ends with punctuation (like a period or question mark). A sentence has a naming part and an action part. A sentence has the all the words in the right order so that it makes sense.

3 One kind of sentence is called a
Telling Sentence A telling sentence tells something. It is a statement. It begins with a capital letter and usually ends with a period.

4 Ben saw a little nest in the tree.
Capital Letter Period The sentence is a telling sentence. It tells you that Ben saw a little nest in the tree.

5 The small frog is in the sack.
Capital Letter Period The sentence is a telling sentence. It tells you that the small frog is in the sack.

6 The red bird has five eggs.

7 I like to play with my dog.
