Vasari: "Andrea del Verrocchio, a Florenting, was in his day a goldsmith, a master of perspective, a sculptor, a wood-carver, a painter, and a musician; but in the arts of sculpture and painting, to tell the truth, he had a manner somewhat hard and crude, as one who acquired it rather by infinite study than by the facility of a natural gift.“ August Andrea is in a fight with other youths, he strikes one with a rock, who later dies.
