An Indirect Object Pronoun or an IOP just stands for a person, or maybe a pet, in most cases.
This person is receiving action from the verb.
This person can be benefiting form the verb’s situation.
Remember-- the IOP is a person most of the time.

Le presto cien dólares a Miguel. I’m lending a hundred dollars to Michael.
Le dice a Paulina. He says to Paulina.
