4. The Government set out its definition of British Values and these values have been reiterated this year (2015). At Ruskin these values are reinforced regularly and in the following ways.

5. Democracy Each year the children decide upon their class rules and the rights associated with these. All the children contribute to the drawing up of the rules.

6. Democracy Children have many opportunities for their voices to be heard. We have a school council which meets regularly to discuss issues raised in class council meetings. 7. Democracy Each half term the children in year 2 are able to nominate and vote for children to be ‘Buddies’. These Buddies help other children on the playground and help tidy around the school.
