2 Breathing Exercise A. When started I felt fine. B. After putting a big straw in my mouth for 20 seconds I felt fine. C. Now putting a small straw in my mouth for 20 seconds it was a little hard to breathe. D. Running in place for 1 minute then putting a small straw in my mouth I could not breathe. E. Yes there is a difference between asthma living in a populated city then living out in the country because living in a city with asthma can be hard cause to many people breathing in the same air. Also to many people smoking. Then living in a country you go all that open space and not a lot of people out there so clean air.

4 Are Air Quality In our local area are air quality is 51-100, Moderate, Yellow. You can see result at the next slide. Trees, Grass, and pollen are really high this time of year.

6 People with Asthma People have asthma more then 20 years ago because 20 years ago there air was not really polluted like today. People back then didn’t really have cars and now they do today that causes asthma like building with smoking coming out of it that’s why people have asthma today and the pollen today is bad.

7 Jackie Joyner - Kersee Jackie was a track-and-field star, four-time Olympian, and three- time gold medalist she was diagnosed with asthma as a freshman at UCLA. She was playing basketball and running track at the time and couldn’t breath after strenuous workouts. Being Afraid of losing her scholarship, Joyner-Kersee would hide in the bathroom to hide her asthma condition from her coaches and teammates. Even after the doctor diagnosed her with asthma, she didn’t take her medication consistently and as a result she suffered a life- threatening asthma attack years later. "I finally learned I had to respect asthma as much as I would an opponent,” Joyner-Kersee told Sports Illustrated for Women, which in 2000 named her the top female athlete of all time. told Sports Illustrated for Women top female athlete of all time
