Physical Dependence Psychological Dependence A persons belief that he or she needs a drug to feel good or function normally Everyone knows its bad – Their need outweighs the danger Some associate smoking with something else – Every break have a cigarette Physical Dependence An addiction in which the body develops a chemical need. Teens can develop a physical dependence more easily than adults Body builds up tolerance

5 Targeting Teens Target audience – Group of people the product is intended for. Companies package their cigarettes with cartoon logos Magazines are used for advertisements They use celebrities
