3 DECISIONS A decision is a choice you make and act upon. In your life you will make several decisions. Some bigger than others. Each decision you make will impact your overall health either physically, mentally, emotionally, or socially.

4 DECISION MAKING Decision making is the process of making a choice or finding a solution. Just today you went through a decision making process on what clothes to wear. How many of you changed your mind several times before you got to school?

5 WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS?

15 INFLUENCES AND DECISIONS Besides our values, there are other things that influence our decisions. An influence is a force that affects your choices when you have a decision to make.

17 INFLUENCES ON DECISIONS Family: – The way you are raised and your family’s standards and value all play a part in your decision making

18 RELIGION RELIGION – Most religions have guidelines that those who believe in that religion are asked to follow – These guidelines affect your decisions in everyday life

19 PEERS PEERS – Peers can have a positive or negative influence on your decisions – Often time peers do things just because their peers are doing things – This is why it is so important to have peers that have the same values and goals

20 EDUCATION EDUCATION – THE MORE EDUCATION YOU HAVE THE MORE SKILLS AND INFORMATION YOU HAVE WHEN MAKING DECISIONS

21 MEDIA MEDIA – The media can have both good and bad information – You have to be a smart consumer and know what information is accurate and what information is exaggerated

22 CULTURE CULTURE – YOUR CULTURE IS THE TRADITIONS YOU FOLLOW AND WAYS YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE BASED ON YOUR ENVIRONMENT.

23 TIME TIME – Sometimes our decisions are based on how much time we have to make the decision – Time also plays a part in how much time we have to put into an activity

24 MONEY MONEY – Sadly, money is a deciding factor in many things – Sometimes there are activities we want to do, but can’t because of money – Some people pick their future jobs based on money

25 EASE EASE – OFTEN TIMES WE DECIDE ON THINGS JUST BECAUSE IT EASIER THAN ANOTHER CHOICE
