1 Welcome to Mr. Winings’ Class Chemistry Honors Marine Ecology

2 Introduction I am a UCSB graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Aquatic Biology and a Masters in Cross Cultural Education. This is my twelfth year teaching with the last ten of them enjoyed at THS. The subjects I teach are Chemistry Honors and Marine Ecology. My mission is to stimulate a life-long interest in the world around us. I want my students to become independent, self-directed problem solvers and critical thinkers. When students leave my class they will have the ability to identify, analyze, and synthesize information. My goal as a teacher is to prepare students for a world of rapidly changing knowledge and technologies of the 21st century. Teaching for me is not just a job or a career, it is a way of life!
