4 Consensus Mat This strategy helps students share ideas, information and points and come to a consensus.

5 TLT Norms What are some rules and regulations that we need to adhere to? Consensus Mat

6 Talking Chips The talking chips strategy is used to promote equal participation among a group. The goal is for each student to place a chip on the table when they want to contribute to the conversation. Each student is not allowed to speak unless they have placed their chip on the table. Students can use their talking chip to: Give an idea Ask a question Express a doubt Respond to an idea Ask for clarification This strategy is best used in cooperative learning groups.

9 Popsicle Sticks This discussion technique ensures that participation from all students is equal. The randomness of calling on students also help with classroom management and misbehavior.
