2 Abstract המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 2 IrDA communication is a very “cheap” technology to implement wireless, short range,P2P applications. The HW include a simple circuit with IR Tx\Rx and the power consuming is very low. thus, in this project we implement a serial wireless communication that base on IrDA protocol.

3 System description המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 3 In this project we implement a IrDA communication channel between custom board that include PIC24FJ256GB106 microprocessor and PC. In order to create IrDA channel in the PC we built a IrDA-USB dongle that function as a linker between the IR transmitter- receiver and the USB port. The dongle is also based on the same PIC24F microprocessor. On the PC we wrote an API in C++, that give the ability to receive and transmit data.
