4  There are a wide variety of rules and regulations depending on the sport your playing. A sport like soccer, for instance, has very different rules then football. So whatever your doing understand how to play it the proper way in a fashion that will reflect well on yourself and teammates.

5  With professional sports there are certain rules that go without say. These rules are to show that you have a respect for the game and your opponents. These could include things such as:  No trash talking  Be respectful to the officials  Say good game after  Shake your opponents hands

6  The size of the field varies depending on the league your in as well as the ages of the players. This applies for the ball as well.  There should always be 11 people on the field for both teams. Although, this may be less depending on injuries or being penalized by the referee.  Equipment is usually just a uniform as well as cleats and shin guards.  You play two 45 minute halves where the objective of the game is to get the ball in the opposing teams net without using your hands. 7  A football field is always 100 yards long and you play with a football that is and oval shaped leather ball.  There are 11 players on the floor at a time for both teams, no more no less.  Equipment is generally a uniform as well as a helmet, pads, and cleats.  You play four 15 minute quarters and the objective is to score a touchdown by getting the ball into the opposing teams end zone and scoring the most points by the end of the game. 8  Basketball is played on a hardwood court.  There are 10 total players on the floor at one time, 5 for each team.  There is no equipment really for basketball except for a uniform and basketball shoes.  The objective of the game is to score the ball in the opposing teams net as many times as possible and have the highest score at the end of the game. 9  Hockey is played on an ice covered rink and they use a cylindrical puck that they pass and shoot with curved sticks.  There are 7 players on a hockey team that are allowed on the ice at one time. Three offense men, 3 defense men, and a goalie.  They play 3 quarters in heavy pads and uniform on ice skates to get around. More info

10  Injuries associated with most sports vary greatly depending on the sport, but the main ones are generally:  Abrasions  Sprains  Muscle tears  Ligament tears  Concussions  Etc. More info
